The bad news is that Kaleb hurt his ankle in the first game, so he didn't get to play in the 2nd game I'm uploading a picture so you can see it. It's actually becoming quite colorful. He is at practice right now, so I've got a bag of ice, epson salt, and ibuprofen ready for when he gets in!

Ouch!
Well, the good news is that I'm 6 for 6 on my picks for American Idol. We have voted for 3 each week and those 3 have made it to the top 12! The other good news is that my son's baseball team won both their games yesterday in their first season tournament and will be playing in the championship game on Saturday. In the 1st game Kaleb went 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs.

Idol Chatter
It started out slow...but the talent got better the last hour. My absolute favorite of the night was Adam (no. 12). Great song choice and great showmanship! The only other guy I liked tonight was no. 6 - Kris Allen. I don't think he has gotten much camera time up til now...so that could hurt him in the voting tonight. My fav girl tonight was Allison, the little 16 yr old red head. She can sing! I liked Meagan (the girl with the tattoos), but she didn't sing too well tonight. And Mishavonna sang pretty well...but didn't really stand out.
So my predictions are that Adam will definitely be the top Guy...But I don't know if I can predict the other two. I'm guessing Allison will be the top girl...What do you guys think?

Digging My Way Out
Two days in a row! Yea Me! Two miles yesterday on the treadmill and only 1 mile today at the track...but I plan to get on the gazelle while watching American Idol tonight. Ok...its a small victory...I'm still in the rut, but I'm digging my way out!

In a Rut...
I haven't posted in several days. I guess I'm just out of sorts. I haven't worked out or walked in over a week! And I keep saying today is the day, but I just don't. I feel...scattered and unfocused. And tired. This is too busy a time of year to be tired and unfocused! Once again, I have half-hearted intentions of walking when I get off work...I'll let you know tomorrow if I follow through. In the meantime, any suggestions to improve my attitude? :(

Idol Thoughts!
What were they thinking? Before 7pm I was wondering what the people at Fox’s American Idol were thinking? America is only going to get to pick 9 out of 36 over the next 3 weeks? That just doesn’t seem fair! We haven’t even had a chance to hear a couple of them yet? (i.e.Ricky Braddy -- where did he come from?) As the show progressed...my thoughts turned to the contestants – What were they thinking? Horrible song choices; Singing off-key; ‘Hello’ – you need to be singing in the same key as the band. What was wrong with Tatiana? Apparently her friends sat her down and told her what an obnoxious, drama-queen she has been. But watching her try so hard to not show any emotion was strange to say the least. She does have a voice; but I can’t stand her!
So, in the end I voted for my favorite girl (Alexis) and guy (Danny)...and hubby voted for his fav (Michael Sarver – the roughneck from Jasper). By reading comments on the internet, I think Alexis for sure will be the top Girl. Top guy will probably be Danny, but could be Anoop, Ricky, or Michael. I predict that it will be 2 guys and one girl through tonight! What do you guys think? Who do you think will make it to the Big Show?

My dad just got back from a trip to Alabama to visit one of his brothers. I am so glad he can do things like this! Here is a picture of my dad and two of his brothers. There were 13 children in my dad's family. This picture is of my Dad, my Uncle Hubert, and my Uncle Charlie. These are the three youngest boys. And thanks to my cousin Lloyd for sending the picture!

One Benefit of the FLU
Daughter-in-law has the flu! And I do hope she feels better soon...but there is a benefit for me! I got to play with the boys today! Lunch at McDonald's and then home where the first thing Slayten wants to do is watch "Race"...which is the movie 'Cars'. As of now, we are watching it for the 3rd time. Sutton is getting so big! He is walking (he took about 6 steps for me!). Thump-Daddy just got in so it gave me a chance to blog and post these two pics. But now its back to watching 'Cars'!

All Work and No Play...Yet
Another sign that its baseball season! It’s time to get the field and concessions stand ready for the first game! Even though it is ‘work’ it was fun to be with my fellow baseball parents again! Good thing my hubby is an electrician! And I’m glad he had a computer guru to help him - Thanks Ben! The only picture I have of Richard is him sitting in that chair! Hmmm...I know he did some work at some time during the day! Hey Cynthia – Glad to know you can make pancakes! That will come in handy for our on Alumni Game Day!
I’m really looking forward to this season! And already I know how much I will miss this next year!
In 3D
What’s the best part of the Super Bowl? The Food & the Commercials! We gathered with friends for fajitas, a re-match game of ‘washers’ and of course the game! I had picked up 3D glasses when I stopped by the grocery store earlier in the day in anticipation of the new 3D commercial to be shown during the game. Of course the commercial wasn’t to air until after half-time, but that didn’t stop our sons from wearing the glasses for each commercial and oohing and aahing and screaming ‘this is the one!”What a sight! All of us gathered in front of the TV wearing these paper 3D glasses just to watch a 2 minute commercial! I do think it would be fun to go see the 3D movie ‘Monsters vs Aliens’!
The Thrill of Victory...
I’m a little behind on blogging, but I just got my pictures downloaded from Super Bowl Weekend. We had a great time celebrating a friend’s birthday with a Fish Fry and Game Night at their home. Who would have guessed how competitive a friendly game of ‘washers’ and ‘ladder ball’ could get! I loved this picture of my friend and her son!
In the words of Jim McKay (Wide World of Sports) I title this "The Thrill of Victory and the Agony of Defeat".

I'm seeing RED!
Tomorrow is National Wear Red Day! And I don’t have a thing to wear! Guess I need to go shopping this evening! I’ll find something! Both sides of my family have a history of heart disease so I’ve really been stepping up the pace (literally!). I’ve been hitting the track/treadmill at least 4 days a week and last week I started going to a exercise classes. I had my cholesterol checked yesterday and HURRAY! I’m back in the normal range! I’m down 50 points since last June! I’m attributing that to the Red Rice Yeast tablets I’ve been taking for the last 6 months and definitely the exercise because 30 points dropped since I started working out!
So girlfriends, dig in your closet and Go Red tomorrow!
